What surprised you most on your water fast?


Hello everyone!

Given all the great people on this site who have water fasted, I thought it would be interesting to hear what everyone's most surprising experience was, or really anything you'd like to share.

I'm on day 6 of a ten day water fast. My first Water Fast was in July 2011. On my first Water Fast I went from 125pds to 111 pds (I'm 5'2). I gained back 7 pds, which is ok. About a month before my first water I started following dr furhmans 'eat to live' program. In the first few months I cheated a lot, sometimes really ALOT, lol. But I stuck with it, and just did my best. Now I'm so happy to say that for about the last two months I've been completely vegan, and almost no Sugar or fried foods or refined carbs, and feeling great!

So, what surprised me most... On my first Water Fast I was completely exhausted and barely able to get out of bed by the second day. This time, for the first 4 days I was able to go to work no problem, now I'm getting a little too tired and giving myself some rest. On my first water fast I had terrible Body Odor the whole time, it was so bad I couldn't even wash it off, this time I'm pretty normal. On my first water fast I was obsessed with food the whole time, this time around I'm ok with it and have even watched others eat lunch and prepared meals for my husband.

Anyways, I'm surprised and delighted at the change in my body! It really makes everything so worth it.

I suspect that the reason I started to tire out by the fifth day was due to my body pulling onto older fat reserves from before I started eating healthy, but that's just a hunch. I suspect that whenever I do a water fast again it will be quite easy!
