The acid is not needed for that mouthwash.

Acids tend to cause problems in the mouth and your saliva tries to neutralize them. If your teeth are exposed to acids for an extended amount of time you end up with cavities.

The mouthwash formula is intended for general use. If you have an abscess, active gum infection, or bone infection then you need a different pre-wash that is followed with the normal mouthwash to remove the acid.
