Re: James: Treatment for symptoms of the sickle cell trait

True, full blown sickle cell anemia developed in tropical climates as a response to malaria. Those with sickle cell have are not as affected. However, full blown sickle cell frequently causes death by adolescence or early adulthood, which means that it's not sustainable from an evolutionary perspective. Nature developed an in-between (sickle cell traits, but not full blown sickle cell) to combat malaria, and while it has its drawbacks, I guess evolution determined that the resistance to malaria outweighed the disadvantages, which is why it's so prevalent.

Symptomatic relief can be achieved through cordyceps sinensis, which improves oxygen utilization significantly by red blood cells.

I know that suma root is also good for oxygenation.

Circulatory aids such as nattokinase and butcher's broom are also good.

Exercise will improve blood vessel integrity and efficiency, while gotu kola, silica, and Vitamin C can do the same.

Alex.
