Re: Yarrow

The root is rarely used, but it is medicinal.  The root is used as an astringent, to reduce tooth pain, to reduce fevers and as a mild stimulant.

The upper part of the plant is used as a hot tea is drunk to induce sweating and break fevers.  Yarrow is astringent and is also excellent for stopping bleeding.  The azulene content of yarrow helps to relax smooth muscle and promotes wound healing.  Yarrow can also be used as a bitter.
