Heavy metals and candida/gut bacterial infections
Hi!!!!
I am currently dealing with some health issues that I feel would benefit from 811. I have done some research on Dr Graham and Dr Klein (
http://www.colitis-crohns.com/facts.html), as well as Frederic Patenaude. However, I'm still a bit apprehensive starting this diet, for I have been told that I must follow a no sugar/fruit/carb diet (basically anti-candida/GAPS/SCD---high fat and protein) in order to "get rid of the candida and intestinal infections, for these infections thrive off of sugars." But, I have been following these types of diet for YEARS and only get sicker, as well as taking loads of supplements and seeing countless doctors and alternative practitioners---no one helps, they just add on more and more diagnoses.
I have been struggling with intestinal infections (aeromonas, citrobacter, klebsiells, staph, proteus, candida....and possibly lyme, parasite, and protozoa), HEAVY METAL toxicities, CFS/FMS, adrenal/thyroid issues,
food allergies , hormonal/neurotransmitter imbalances, horrible GI issues/constipation/gas/cramps/etc, depression/anxiety, osteoporosis, muscle wasting/failure to thrive...u name it. I'm only 25, too. :-(
Will this diet change REALLY help me? Will eating all this fruit/sugar truly NOT feed the yeast/fungus/bacteria? Will this finally restore my health? I used to train as a weight lifter and swimmer, but now I lost all my muscle and pretty much weigh the same as a 2nd grader. It sucks, I have no quality of life, I can't work, and I'm on disability. I'm tired of going from one doctor to the next and taking tons of supplements that only cause reactions, not healing.
I was thinking of doing a consult with Dr Klein once I read his book (I posted the link above). Is this recommended? I need to know how to do this correctly, for I cannot lose any weight. I also need to know how to transition correctly so that my body doesn't freak and that I don't get bad cramps, gas, pain, constipation (which usually happens when i eat carbs and fruits). I was told I have fructose malabsorption...but is this because I'm eating fat and animal protein? How will the fructose issue impact me?
I used to be vegan, but I relied a lot on the processed vegan foods. I long to be vegan again (animal rights!), and this sounds like the healthiest way to do it.
What is a typical day's worth of meals like for u?
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
