Re: please help me!!!

Hello.

What you describe sound like "floaters". They are normal and increase as we age. If you have a sudden increase in floaters you should go see a doctor immediately. It can be the sign that your retina may be detaching, which if not treated immediately can lead to blindness.

I have floaters that are long and stringy and segmented. My dad has them really bad, and his are a lot of different shapes. They are not parasites. They are usually pieces of your retina that have broken off.

Here's just one website as a reference:

Google will turn up many more.

Are the segmented worms moving? Or do they just float across your field of vision? Can you describe them in more detail?

Unless they are wiggling and clearly alive, I would not assume they are parasites.

If they are moving and clearly alive, then does your university have a student health service? If yes, go there. If not, then for crying out loud go to an ER and have a doctor take a look. Do you really want to risk losing your vision permanently to random advice given on a web forum?

That said, verify everything the doctor says as well, since I've learned that doctors are often not to be trusted either. You have to take ownership of your own health. Easier said than done.

Good luck,

Seth
