Mentholatum works.

Hemorrhoids run in my family, as do varicose veins. One of my cousins started getting hemorrhoid flare-ups bad after giving birth to her son. She got lots of different advice, and tried lots of different things. Until someone told her to use mentholatum. She was desperate so she tried it. And she said it works. She said get it on your finger and apply it to affected areas, even inside. She said it will burn like hell for a while, but the swelling and pain will go down. Much much better than Preparation H and tucks she said.
