Re: DMPS vs DMSA, safety?
Re: dmpsbackfire.com/
Cutler has mentioned this site in his yahoo posts. Apparently he is aware of some of those cases.
You can get DMSA online. Many members of the yahoo Cutler groups use vrp.com or everythingspectrum.com or the folks who post our hair tests.

for the past 10+ years people have been getting better on low frequent DMSA or DMPS plus ALA!
Re "Natural Methods" Ha! Don't make me laugh! ALA is a natural substance on one of the very few known to be able to move inorganic mercury across the blood brain barrier.
Whatever is in cilantro apparently also does this however some of the worst stories we hear from members are from those who have used cilantro! Beware!

Cutler laughs at the use of chlorella. I think he says you might as well eat a pork chop!

DMSA is FDA approved for use in kids who have lead. How well studied are the "natural" things.
In the yahoo groups the sickest members seem to do reasonably well on DMPS. It seems to be the best tolerated. I don't have any experience with it since I have lead and cadmium. I've been using DMSA + ALA for 1.5 years and am improving nicely; however just today I took my girlfriend to one of the Cutler approved doctors to get a scriipt for DMPS. She has a hair test that matches one of his counting rules and has the typical list of female Hg symptoms.
The ultimate goal is not to get rid of the HMs; it is to recover our health. Cutler on many occasions warns us that we can do things that reduce the body burden of Hg but actually move more Hg into the most vulnerable parts of the body. That is what happened to the mice in this study as Cutler explains.
