truly extraordinary - the sun blew a chunk

i have never seen such an intense ribbon of plasma coming from the sun as the one today. thats pretty much a complete solar cycle that i have been watching on line. my guess is that it is the most material i have seen ejected at once due to its density. this was more than a coronal mass ejection. the sun blew a chunk of itself off into space.
