hello QLight ! Eat a plant-based diet of lots of varied fruits and vegetables, primarily, (as the Natural Hygienists all recommend), get good plant fats, like cold-pressed oils and so forth. And stay sufficiently hydrated. If you eat lots of veg. and fruit you don't need tones of water. If you eat lots of glue-making stuff, and meat, then you will need more water...If you already have problems in that regard, some colon cleansing might be advised, as I mentioned to WGY. I'd favour herbs myself, over enemas, having never yet taken one.
Herbs (if they are good ones) nourish and tonify (get the colon 'in shape).
I have taken some salt water flushes on occasion, using pure unrefined sea salt, but would never do that with white, denatured salt-->>which, to me, is scary!

edit--I have been hearing a lot about distilled water lately, and am starting to feel like it's a good thing to help 'dissolve' some of the plaque-like stuff that might be in the colon. That and some apple cider vinegar or lemon would probably be beneficial.
