Although eagles and maples are more recognizable and fetch a higher price due to their mint this is not always the best choice for everyone. The ONLY drawback is in a much higher premium to purchase. Personally I like to get the most ounces per dollar as I feel that in time of need it will be strictly an asset weighed by the melt value of the metal itself. I only have generic bullion so far.
Junk silver coins are perhaps the best form of alternate currency in a collapse, I have yet to buy any but hope to soon before it's too late.
