Candida--what does it look like when it comes out?

What does candida look like exactly, when/if it comes out of a person? Does it look different depending on which way it comes out of a person?

I'm curious because I've been coughing up lots of thick, sticky mucus and am wondering if it could be candida, or just plain mucus. Sometimes mine is long, yellow, and stringy. Today it has been mostly white, very tough, sticky, and hard to get out. Sometimes the same sort of mucus and consistency comes out of my sinuses. Could it be candida?
