 I consider that the major cause of anxiety attacks are due to excess stress hormones production, quite unrelated to anything going on in the environment. Stress hormones are produced when the body experiences an illness. A major illness responsible for excess stress hormones is  Hypoglycemia . When the brain is starved of energy in a hypoglycemic dip, it will trigger the release of adrenaline, which functions to convert energy stores in the body - glycogen - into glucose, so as to feed the brain again. Thus when it comes to anxiety attacks or depression (this usually follows a long period of excess adrenaline production), it is worthwhile to go on a Hypoglycemic diet as a first step.
