Sounds more like the writer's opinion than concrete fact to me.  I wonder how many people who have died from their mainstream cancer treatments wish they had pursued alternatives which might have saved their lives instead?

Jobs fought his cancer for over seven years.  Though he had a "more treatable" form of pancreatic cancer, it still is usually fatal and it is open to conjecture as to whether or not he might have lived longer or shorter if he had undergone mainstream treatment earlier.
