Help mag seemed to cause ocular painless migraine
My mother has started having ocular or painless migraines this year. On two occasions she has taken magnesium lactate (650 mg)with calcium lactate(150mg)for absorption to treat sleeplessness and charlie horses. on 2 out of 3 occasions she got a ocular migraine, soon after taking it.
I have read that magnesium helps migraines and the mag did relieve both the symptoms she took it for(above). She wants to continue taking it more than she wants to avoid the migraine, which at present, is just a spot in her vision that has lines coming off of it with light around it.
Does anyone else have these types of migraines.
She just got out of the hospital for a complete workup to evaluate for stroke/heart attack because of an extreme painless migraine and vertigo attack at the same time.( extreme shaking, throwing up, diarrhea, the room spinning fast and the feeling of loosing consciousness that lasted for more than an hour. She also saw a Neurologist who said that all of these symptoms could be accounted for by ocular or painless migraine combined with vertigo.
Main need: why onset of migraine after taking magnesium and calcium when these are supposed to help migraine. Could it just be a herx
