new to SCD...advice?

Hi!

I am dealing with numerous intestinal infections (aeromonas, citrobacter, klebsiella, staph, proteus, candida, etc), as well as heavy metals, horrible GI issues and food intolerances , immune dysfunction, hormonal/neurotransmitter/nutritional imbalances, adrenal/thyroid/HPA dysfunctions, osteoporosis..you name it. I've been to too many docs (allopathic and alternative) who can't help me.

I'm trying to educate myself on SCD and GAPS.... which is best and why?

Also, I have some questions:

1. Why does SCD feel that a probiotic containing any other strain except lactobacillus is harmful? We have countless friendly flora in our gut, so I was always told to take a brand that has as many strains as possible (such as ReNEw Life's 14 strain Ultimate Flora 80 billion CFU).

2. I have been on an anti-candida diet for a while and have not eaten fruits/dairy/sugars/honey in years due to bad reactions to them. Wouldn't doing SCD be harmful to me, since this diet allows fruits and honey? How do those simple sugars NOT feed the pathogens (who thrive off of simple sugars, for more complex carbs are too difficult for them to break down)?

3. I am very underweight...will this diet contribute to more wt loss? I used to be muscular and athletic, now I'm a weakling due to these infections and such.

4. Has anyone heard of True Health Medical Center in Naperville, IL? They are pioneers in biofilm eradication, and Autism (and so much more). If anyone has any experience with this clinic, please provide info!

-Will using goat milk yogurt be ok for someone with casein allergies? Or, is there a dairy-free way to make SCD-legal yogurt (I've tried to do this in the past and failed).

5. Is homemade coconut water kefir ok?

6. I know grains are eliminated, but is the use of Nutribiotic's Brown Rice protein powder ok? I use it for extra cals and protein, since I don't methylate well and have malabsorption.

7. What probiotics are recommended? Are there any store-bought ones that are ok? (and dairy-free)?
