good instruction for ear candling/coning

2 candles, slim 1/2"
Made from 100% Beeswax and Muslin

The natural way to maintain ear health
and help eliminate excess mositure in
all areas of the ears and sinuses.

Supplies:

Two or more ear candles
1 bowl of water
1 pair of scissors
Cotton swabs or balls
Oil (Grapeseed or equivalent)
Paper Plate
Napkin
Paper Towels
Matches
Old Towels
Surgical gauze (optional)

Preparation:

Put the napkin on the paper plate and wet the napkin until it is saturated. Cut a slot in the plate and napkin that will allow the candle to slide to the middle of the plate. This will allow you to trim the hot ash from above the flame onto the damp napkin. You trim the ash to ensure it does not fall over and block the flow of air through the ear candle.

Sit the individual being candled on a chair at a table. Have them rest their head on a pillow with a towel over it. Cut a slot in a small towel to the ear. This will protect their clothing, face and hair from any falling ash. Use this towel to wrap around the base of the candle after is is inserted in the ear.

Optional but Highly Recommended:

A piece of gauze approximately 1" square inserted to 2" from the tapered end of the candle will eliminate ash and beeswax from accumulating close to the ear opening.

Procedure:

Get individual comforable at table lying down. Using a cotton swab, put a little oil around the tip of the candle.
Gently insert the candle into the ear. Seat it so that air and smoke cannot escape around the candle.
Carefully light the candle. Trim the ash as required. Keep the candle as straight as possible. Burn the candle to no less than 5" from the tapered end.
When you remove the ear candle, dowse it in the bowl of water. Do not get water in the ear for 24 hours.

If this is the first time you have candled your ears, you may want to repeat the procedure 3 or 4 times every other day. Most individuals require ear candling 3 to 4 times a year. Your situation may differ and require more or less.
