if you own your house and/or money is not so much of a dealio, consider a whole house carbon filter, it is more money up front but this will get a ton of the chlorine out.

Shower filters are difficult because they have to filter hot and cold water and do it quickly. The standard medium is KDF because it can still filter hot water.

distillation and RO are way too slow for shower and I don't know if the ALU oxide Newport mentions can filter the fluoride fast enough for a shower.

Let us know what you find, I am curious......
