Is a Hair Test Really Necessary?

That just seems like a good way to chase your tail, IMHO. I've had about 7 of them in the last 30 years. I recently realized that I need to cut out high copper foods and focus on Zinc nutrition. I was told my the last 2 hair tests that I have bio unavailable copper. I have Hep C for 30 years, male.

Was on a total vegan diet for 8 months, and it aggravated my Zinc/Copper imbalance. I now have a bacterial infection and taking things for it has little effect, just like Dr Wilson and others say will happen in a Zn/Cu imbalance.

Many MDs and websites say that all kinds of supps should be taken to remove the excess Cu, but I think I'd rather do it all (or at least most of it) with foods, and not artificial nutrients. Every morning I drink fresh organic carrot, Celery and cabbage juices, and I add superfoods to it for B Vits, etc. I decided to take some Zinc [25 mg daily] and stop eating nuts, seeds, and gluten grains, which have too much copper, and limit my eating of millet, rice, and corn. These things will, over time, balance my Zn and Cu, I believe. I feel no need to jump on a $250 program that's going to recommend I take $140 worth of someone's supps per month. As real as I think the Zn/Cu imbalance is, some doctors seem to be opportunists to make money off of these people. I didn't get into this imbalance with pills, and I don't think I need pills to get myself out of it, though I think some doctors would like us to think we need them to do everything except chew our food for us.
