Follow up on my concussion post
James,
I saw that you recommended staying off supplements because you don't want anything to thin the blood. So I guess you wouldn't recommend fish oil at first. But I read online that fish oil given to rats after brain injury helped them significantly.
What I am also worried about is having headaches from physical activity years down the line after a concussion. All over the internet, I see people mentioning this as their experience after suffering a concussion. It wasn't uncommon for me to read that someone was suffering from headaches years after a mild concussion. Why is this, and how can it be prevented? If you don't recommend fish oil now, maybe its use a couple months post concussion will allow the brain to heal? I have also read studies that say creatine helps prevent brain damage from concussions as well.
There has to be something that helps prevent prolonged post concussion syndrome. I enjoy playing sports, so I need to be able to run and play sports without recurring headaches.
Also, what about pituitary gland damage? Is there any way to help prevent that after a concussion?
