Re: Potassium during a water fast?
There have been numerous posts on the forum in the past concerning supplementing with nutrients on a water fast, and where the consensus of opinion, including my own, is it is not advisable.
The reasoning behind this is that if you take any external nutrition during the fast, the body will believe it is in "eating mode" as opposed to "fasting mode", and as a result, other deficiencies are more likely to occur, as the body will do little if anything to conserve its vital nutrient supplies.
As an example, if you eat a Vitamin C deficient diet, then scurvy is the most likely outcome, but when absent from a water-only-fast scurvy does not develop at all.

You are best to do any supplementing prior to a fast, so that your body, and especially your Liver, will have adequate nutrient-stocks to see you through even the most prolonged fast.
