Re: Detailed study on resistant and senstive drugs to Blasto

"-Metametrix told me 6 months ago they are working on subtype identification."

Excellent!!

Here a 2011 paper

"Development of a new PCR protocol to detect and subtype Blastocystis spp. from humans and animals"

"Blastocystis has been found not only in humans but also in a wide range of animals, such as nonhuman primates, pigs, cattle, rodents, and birds (Abe 2004; Arisue et al. 2003; Navarro et al. 2008; Noel et al. 2005; Stensvold et al. 2009a). "

Lets hope Metametrix or other labs soon also can give infected people their sub -type and that this can lead to more effective treatment.
