It was designed to treat high cholesterol, as you are likely already aware. Shumaker (toxic mold victim advocate and doctor) was the first to recommend it for mycotoxins released from fungi. Many swear by it. Those who dislike it find it constipating. I have a bucket of it, but tried it only once.

Essentially, it is an adsorbant. Google aDsorbants. They are agents which aBsorb toxins. Many other items will do the same. I prefer glucomannan, DE, IP6, Bentonite - the list continues.

Be careful with it. If you do have problems (of the potty variety) add magnesium.
