well, of course. sylvettes "halogen imbalance syndrome" pretty much nails it as far as how lab tests can be negative yet the person displays ALL the other clinical symptoms of hypothyroidism. but i have another idea that is in play as well.

since goiter is a reaction of the past population we must look at what might have changed.

we may have reached a genetic roadblock in dealing with the combination of deficiency and poisoning.

it seems to me that goiter is an immune reaction. vaccinations and other disease have lowered immunity throughout the population. perhaps goiter is an immune system response that can no longer be mustered.
