Re: Ready to start ALA?

The IV's I'm getting are slow drip -- they take about 2 hrs and that's after a Myers cocktail that contains a bunch of vitamins/minerals. My dr also has me on a mineral supplement, but I was still getting muscle cramps so I started taking a liquid trace minerals supplement (which tastes like death warmed over, but seems to absorb better). The dose on the chelators is a little misleading because this particular protocol calls for taking oral doses of several things (including 250mg DMPS, 300mg Ca Edta and 200mg Difloucan) at the time of the IV and 12 hrs afterward. In the IV itself, there is only 50mg DMPS and 300mg Ca Edta. The idea with the oral/IV combo is to eliminate GI redistribution and it seems to be doing that as far as I can tell since the only side effects I've had from the IV's have been minor dizziness, a little bit of extra fatigue and some muscle cramps in between IV's (that seem to respond to the liquid trace minerals I'm taking).

I'm still puzzled about the NAC -- in looking back over my journal, I realize that the last time I took a decent-size dose of it was a week I also had more dizziness, so I'm thinking there may very well be a connection. It's just that between the mercury and the candida, I know I really need to boost my glutatione to help my body heal itself and I'm not sure of another effective way to do it. I've been doing coffee enemas the last 2.5 months, but just this week I read that if you're deficient in cysteine, all the coffee enemas in the world won't increase your glutathione, so although the enemas have helped me get rid of some yeast, I'm not sure they helped my liver as much as I thought:-(.

Definitely keep us posted with this new protocol. Who knows how much longer I'm going to be at this since my last challenge test showed absolutely zero mercury being excreted. Now, if I hadn't just had 4 fillings (that had been in place 30 yrs) removed, I might think that was good, but it seems that pretty much everyone who's had fillings should be showing at least a small excretion of mercury following an IV challenge, so the likelihood is that I'm releasing my other metals first and haven't gotten rid of much mercury yet:-(. My aluminum, cadmium and lead are all sky-high.
