I agree with you Zlatin that supplementing with Vitamin D is not an ideal option, but can be absolutely necessary when sunlight exposure is not possible or frequent enough, as in indoor occupations or in parts of the World where sunshine is minimal, as in the UK where I live. Seasons of the year also restrict enough sunlight exposure.
Many now believe (as I do) that supplementing has become a necessity in the absence of sunlight in order to raise the levels of Vitamin D in the body to any where near being adequate or ideal. I read a report recently that stated even abundant sunlight exposure is sometimes unable to raise D levels adequately and for a variety of reasons.
I supplement in the Fall, Winter and Spring, but not so in the Summer.
The question of whether to supplement with Vitamin D has been a subject on which there has been much debate here within curezone, but I am of the opinion that supplementation is a good and inexpensive health insurance/prophylactic against many forms of cancer.
