Happy Ramadan - be careful Muslims

Oh Allah, the day I have waited for has arrived. May all Muslims fast for the sake of Allah and remember those who are unable to fast on this day. Remember the dead, remember the sick and remember those less fortunate.

It is also a day to be thankful for the food you will break your fast with. It is a day to remember days before and it is a day to be thankful for the blessings we have received.

Today I am cooking harira. A traditional Moroccan soup made especially for Ramadan. I cook this soup every single year on the first day of Ramadan in memory of my dear sweet husband who is not here to be with me.

His words echo to me every year as he said, "Be careful because I may not be here next Ramadan." He was correct as he died two months later.

On this day I ask all Muslims to be careful as we never know if we shall see another Ramadan.

Sara
