That's the thing, there's no clear-cut info on this. No doubt
Iodine is essential. I'd be wary though supplementing in doses that will mobilize fluoride, bromide, mercury, cet. Fluoride, for instance, DOES show up in breast milk... as does perchlorate...
And then of course there's the chance that the baby will be diagnosed with hypo or hyperthyroid. That's what happened with warthog and her baby and they have the child on thyroid. We can guess that the hypo was transient due to mom's
Iodine intake and that everything would have normalized- but MDs won't let you wait and see and understandably so as untreated hypothyroid can be devastating to the infant/child. So who's going to risk it?
BTW, as of last report, the child is doing very well:)

KI throughout pregnancy.
