I have one of these for outdoors trips. works great, but would not function well for daily living. water filtration can be a real pita. the powers that be make sure to add so much crap that its no easy feat to get out. distillation comes the closest, RO not bad either. neither are portable and one requires energy... i wish I had my own spring, but these days land with a spring is worth more than gold... that tells you something.
