Independence Day

I would like to wish those celebrating Independence Day, a happy day. Remember many of Curezone's readers are foreigners and not all of them celebrate this day including me. My day has been spent on fasting, as this is a religious month for me before Ramadan. There will be others in Italy, Germany and even Indonesia who don't celebrate this American holiday, but what they do celebrate is Independence.

Freedom is a word so precious that even the animals desire this. The worse thing you can do to an animal is deny them freedom. On a day when Americans are at family barbecues, I am celebrating with my cat the freedom to practice my religion and the right to live in any country that I choose.

Freedom is a thing that Mel Gibson yelled out in his movie Braveheart. It is something he gave his life for. Freedom is something we all fight hard for.

Prisoners when they walk out the doors of their confinement and smell the fresh air for the first time, yell out "Freedom." The desire to be free and not be in the confinement or bounds of superiors is important.

The other day I could not sign in to Curezone due to a software glitch. I could not post or even comment. I felt awful. I wrote to the Webmaster, who quickly gave me my freedom back. The feeling of loss of power was not good. The freedom for me to post anything I desire is a wonderful feeling and I am so blessed to be given that right.

Few of us really think about the freedoms we have and how we will fight hard to prevent others from taking those freedoms away. I recently installed cameras on the outside of my home to know better what is happening. I want rest and quiet. My home is huge, sort of like a compound with a huge garden in the back. It is impossible to know everything happening and sure enough some greedy neighbors decided to rob my garden of its special crop. I now have freedom not to worry as the cameras frighten even the best thieves away.

Freedom comes with a price though. Although I am free to write and say what I want without fear of persecution, not everyone agrees with those thoughts. People attack and they harm and they seek to stop me from my thoughts. People shake their heads and yes there are those idiots that abandon me as a friend.

We all make choices on this Independence Day and I can not state my feelings any stronger than with the quoting of this very beautiful poem about what a woman is:

So as everyone celebrates Independence Day today I wish them well. I wish them happy thoughts and I wish them love.

As always

Sara
