Like most medical advice it is an urban legend.
I wanted to increase my alkaline level in my body, as Iodine and everything works better at higher ph's.
using two quarts of warm water, four tablespoons of baking soda, it should increase body PH. Most medics tell not to do that, as their is a large artery that connects direct to the heart, and should blood ph get out of the range of 7 to 7.3 it can instant death.
Most often anything you take orally, through the digestive tract is messed with by the body, if you take BS orally, your body just adds more HCL to it and makes it acidic, once it is at the correct PH, your body then releases digestive enzymes to digest it. So why bother. Just take Baking Soda via an enema and it goes straight, the soda does into the blood and body.
Just my opinion though, I could be wrong.
