Right now is the eve of Miraj

The eve of Miraj has begun and you can decide what you want to do. The miraj is when the Prophet descended into heaven to see Allah. The miracle is so blessed, that it is with great honor we remember this night.

Sufis believe to fast tomorrow, but Sunnis do not. Some have suggested it is bidah as this was never a practice of Prophet Mohammad, pbuh. The ulimah has stated that you should fast if this is your normal practice.

What you can do is zikr and nafl salat. You can praise Allah and you can give charity to the poor. These are all acceptable practices in Islam. You can remember the dead also.

On July 2nd we will begin the month of Shaban. The month of Shaban is a blessed month meant for fasting. You should not fast past the 15th, as you need to rest for Ramadan.

The blessed month of Ramadan will begin on August 1st.

I remind you all to think of death often and to do what you would do on this night and the next few months, as if it was your last month on earth.

Sara
