A sad story Chaz. I was thinking about what would happen in my own country if something like this took place. Being a much smaller country population wise, most people would hear about it, although I doubt it would cause mass demonstrations against the government.

Personally I would care that such a tragedy had taken place, and I would definitely want to know what the circumstances were, that led to the tragedy. Perhaps this person did get a bad run from government, or perhaps his own poor choices, and behaviour led him to the point of suicide. There's not a lot of information in the article, and the man is now dead, so cannot be asked.

Someone commits suicide every 40 seconds, somewhere in the world.

What is interesting from this chart, is that some of the countries that have the worst economic conditions, and the most politically unstable conditions, or most oppressive governments, have the lowest rates of suicide.
