my candida nightmare started after an Antibiotic too, had it for 20 years (tried EVERYTHING) until I started with a pinch of borax daily and later the Iodine protocol, of which selenium, magnesium, salt, vit b and c are the most important.

Trapper used Colloidal Silver to combat candida so there are other options. The way I see it is that the overgrowth of candida are killed by borax (or silver), while the Iodine protocol strengthen the thyroid and other endocrine glands.
For me it was vital to fix my digestion; this was done with betaine HCL, vit B and zinc in addition to the Iodine protocol. I can now digest bread and even milk (!)

I have not done any flushes or followed a strict diet.
