Eliminating/reducing odors from a room

Not only do we have our b/o to fight but for some of us, it tends to linger in rooms. Here are some suggestions that have helped. If anyone else has anything else they can add, please do.

1. Windows and doors--If possible, open the windows and doors to bring in fresh air and let out the old.

2. Room deodorizers--Use those that eliminate/neutralize odors not cover them up. Read the labels. Those that cover up usually makes things worse because you end up with two smells.

3. Paint--They now have new paint on the market that is supposed to reduce/eliminate odors.

4. Dust and clean the walls--Did you know that a lot of the dust, especially in our bedrooms, is dead skin. It stands to reason if we smell then our dead skin also smells. Dust your walls with something that makes the dust cling to it not just move it around. I use a broom and a lint-free soft rag. I put the rag over the bristles and dust the walls. Also, washing the walls helps but it's up to you how often you do that.

4. Floors--If possible, avoid carpets. They tend to soak up odors. I'd use carpet deodorizer and the bedroom would be smelling like b/o the next day. Hard floors are best as they're easy to sweep and mop.

Any other ideas?
