root canal questions

I had a root canal in late 2008. I've learned on curezone, that having a root canal can cause health problems. I now have a thyroid problem. If I touch the site that I had the root canal on, it does feel sore. I did take Antibiotics & lost weight during the same time I had the root canal. Here are the questions that I have-

What is the type of doctor that I'd have to see to look into the chemical toxicity of the root canal?

I see a Naturpathic Doctor now, could that doctor test me for the chemicals used in root canals?

What is the name of the type of dentist that can perform the procedure to remove the left over bacteria?
