Lichen Sclerosis (Sclerosus) HELP?

Hello,

I am a mom of 4 daughters, and am 48 yrs of age. I have had horrible itching, with burning, broken skin on the labia for a couple of months now. The itching has been coming and going for a few months or so. I noticed the broken skin a couple of week a ago when I finally took a look! I have had a cryo procedure (3 yrs ago) for cervical dysplasia, have had 2 cysts on my cervix. I had a biopsy of a cyst and an endo biopsy last November (2010). Both were okay. I do need a hysterectomy due to large fibroids, one that bothers me (pain when sneezing, bending over suddenly, etc). I had an endometrial ablation, and right ovary and tube removed in 2002. Just a multitude of lovely reproductive issues! (We won't even talk about the breast problems I have had to the last 20 yrs...) I am making an appt to see my wonderful OB/GYN tomorrow. I have tried to use creams like, lidocaine cream, Desitin, anti-fugal, anti-itch, OTC yeast infection creams, etc, but this is KILLING ME. My husband is so understanding...I am sitting here alone just crying...he has seen the broken skin, but I know he probably think I am not attracted to him, as sex is out of the question. I have "given in" but I pay for it for a week. I am at my wits end! :'( Why do they do for LS, if that is what I do have? All signs and symptoms (and Google searches) point to this when doing online research...
