Re: H Pylori
Can/could having a h pylori infection be a root cause factor for leaky gut syndrome?
I would say no. Leaky gut is an inflammatory problem of the gut making the gut more permeable to solutes. But H. pylori causes inflammation in the stomach, not the gut. Although the ammonia from H. pylori will neutralize stomach acid, which in turn prevents proteins from being properly broken down. The partially digested proteins will form solutes that can enter in to the blood stream contributing to allergies. Here are a few posts I did with more detailed information:

And could going on a high meat diet further aggrevate h pylori infection/the organs affected by LGS?
Again the issue would be with the proteins not digesting completely. The protein digestive enzyme pepsin cannot work properly without sufficient stomach acid.
Has anyone heard of the approach to try baking soda to tease out h pylori from hiding? Due to its alkalising effects?
That does not make any sense. First of all the H. pylori screws itself in to the stomach wall. so it is not likely to unscrew itself back out. But more importantly the ammonia released by the bacteria neutralizes the stomach acid to protect itself. Further neutralizing the stomach acid will simply make a more conducive environment for the growth or H. pylori as well as create all sorts of digestive issues.
