Re: part 2

Regarding prebiotics, I have a bag of rice bran that I sprinkle on any food that gets too wet. I did go through a couple of bottles of inulin and FOS. Also, a while back I took some rice bran, xantham gum, guar gum (and maybe one other thing), mixed them all together and then encapsulated them. Not really necessary though and not advisable. I discovered that they swell up to 2, 3 times their original size and gum up your intestines. One of them came back up on me and was the size of an AA battery. I still have some on hand, pop one every once in a while. I get them mostly from food now--tons of vegetables, legumes, and fruit. And the rice bran, and oats. Plus spirulina and chlorella.

Regarding probiotics, as I said I'm having great success w/ diet and the sauerkraut and the miso. But I've gone through tons of bottles of whatever's in the refrigerated section at Whole Foods. From what I can tell, the more expensive the better, if you're gonna go that route. The best I ever used was Dr Bob's "Probiotic Complex." They're in locust bean capsules--if you want to target the lg. intestine, you swallow them. If you want to target the small intestine you chew them. To target both, you chew 2 and swallow 2. Had BM's like I was 10 years old. I also use "so delicious" coconut kefir. And recently, some lactose-free dairy kefir.

To complete the picture... about every other morning I make a psyllium drink--flakes and husks--and add some combination of: methylcellulose, Bentonite slurry, DE, spirulina, and Caproyl. I still pop SF722, 4 at a time. And I recently bought Candex--seems to give me a slight brain fog, which I can't have during work so I'm restricting that to weekends...
