chlorine as bad as bromine ?

I don't understand this:

width Iodine therapy we try to get rid of all the halogens that can bind at the receptor places of iodine, right ?

But at the same time (sea)salt is advised! Very high in chlorine!

Or is chlorine less bad than bromine and fluorine? What is the difference, please help because I don't understand.
