Re: I'm wondering if allergies are making my throat sore, not reflux....
Yes! that is very possible. Back-nose dripping and phlegms irritate your throat a lot. This happens to my dad.
Get a good strong allergy medicine on a daily basis like Claritin-D. Take one every day in the morning or go to the doctor and get your allergies checked to see what he/she recommends. Don't wait until your allergies get bad to take it, but rather keep it under control taking the medication every day. This will also help you to avoid sinus infections and other cold related complications due to allergies.
Don't get the regular Claritin, it is not strong enough, ask for the Claritin-D 24 hour caps.
You can also take a lighter pill at night before going to bed. Like the meltables or liquid gel.
Try this, if after taking Claritin-D for about a week your sore throat continues, then you can continue the elimination process looking for a cause.
Sore throat is also related to
Depression and stress...
Good Luck!
