Re: Reverse thinking
Hi. Wow, lots of questions. I'll see what I can answer.
Not always stressed, but often even when relaxed have hidden anxiety way back. I try to stay mentally-positively focused and spiritually.
But, any stress, even minor, mental or physical, is at it's worst, this time in my AF.
No. only the cortisol tested. Saving up money to get this redone, also need seratonin checked. DHEA and Pregn. both were ok. Interesting in the blood work, my cortisol was higher and aldersterone was way low. Can't figure that one out. Seems if aldersterone is low than the cortisol would also be low. I've heard that associated anxiety is most often accompanied with high cortisol. Yet, I'm so chronically weak, which is more relavent for low cortisol people.
Thyroid only check. blood test. Reverse high T3 found.
I am on bio-identical hydrocortisone, 3 mg. 3 times a day.
I'd like to bring that down to 2 times a day. ( it is very low dose) I started out on 5 mg. 3 times a day and back than, I felt so much better on it. But, I do want my own adrenals to build up. That initial cortisol, took a big stress off my adrenals, so when stress came, it gave them a rest. I've cut back on the 5-HTP to see how I feel. Doctor had me start on Pregnanalone and 5-htp about 2 months ago and I've felt worse, but than I felt worse just prior to that too, with another move, from house to apartment. (big stress) I believe the test was given to 45 people, some with 200mg. of 5-HTP ( large dose ) and others a placebo. The ones on the 200mg. had a suggnificant raise in cortisol levels. I'm only on 25-50mg..
Good for you. A naturopath. Hope the appt. goes well. One key to is finding a caring and understanding doctor.
The one I saw was an MD with extension into alterntive. First visit, 8 viles of blood taken and a return 10 page report of results. Showed alot. I had Ebstein bar (herped related too) candida, low seratonin, aldersterone, high reverse T3 and high cortisol. But, than too, just the pain of the IV drawing blood freaks me out and I start sweating, thus could have increased cortisol. And, too question the reliability of blood verse saliva testing. Always heard saliva is better.
Please keep in touch. How are you doing and your histor of AF.?
Take care,
Paulette
