Thyroid function tests are notoriously inaccurate; if Ashwagandha is going to actually alter thyroid issues, it could make someone that's hyperthyroid worse, but it'd be unusual to cause anything but benefit in someone that's hypothyroid. If you have any sense at all that it's a negative, then stop it for 3-7 days and see.

Ashwagandha is a very beneficial adaptogenic herb and has a vast array of benefits. The only time it could be contraindicated is in the presence of hyperthyroid, and that hasn't even been clearly proven (only reported, and who KNOWS what variables might have been at play in those that reported it).
