Anyone ever get cramps after Castor Oil enema?
Hi,
I met a well trained Ayurvedic doctor about 10 days ago. At first I accepted everything he told me without question, until he told me to give myself a castor
Oil Enema using 8 - 12
ounces of castor oil at body temperature. I chose 8 ounces.
That was 4 days ago, and I held it in for a few hours. Within a couple more hours I got pretty severe cramps in my bowels. Though they have lessened, they are still present days later
Doing a google on Castor
Oil Enema and Cramps, I find that castor oil causes cramps but mostly when taken by mouth. It is used as a punishment - but that is off topic, and not part of this discussion.
The normal recipes for castor
Oil Enema s are 1 to 2 tablespoons or, sometimes, 1 to 2 ounces, mixed in a huge volume of water. Nothing I see says 8 to 12
ounces undiluted.
He says it's very gentle and couldn't possibly be responsible for cramps, claiming not one such episode in hundreds of applications. This has become a source of controversy and arguments, in which unkind things have been said, and various childish attacks have been made, due to the questioning of a doctor by a patient.
Yet I know what I went through, and am still going through, and nothing else I did that day could account for it.
Please reply if you have any information on this subject. Please respond ONLY if you have personal experience with cramping and castor oil enemas, have heard of cramping and castor oil enemas, or know of a link about cramping and castor oil enemas. Or have a comment on the 8 ounce quantity.
Replies that are off-topic or reflections about any of the other things brought up here, will send me an email alert. So please consider whether what you say is worth bothering someone about.
Thanks.
