Re: Why? Ashwaghanda.

Hiya Beth,

In light of the fact that I know Uny has at least 5 long protocol posts she's working on for people that have been patiently waiting, some in excess of a month (and there might be some I'm not aware of), I don't think she's going to have time right now to answer this post lol!  So I'm posting a couple of links to posts/threads where Uny goes in depth about Ashwagandha.

The first link was from one of your questions Beth but I thought it'd be good to go ahead and post it again in case someone interested in Ashwagandha didn't see it, its got lots of good links to info in it.

We have to remember when researching herbs that most herbal sites we find are affected by the lies of allopathic science and that science is bought and paid for and 9 times out of 10 not legit.  Allopathic people will/have said that Comfrey causes liver damage, Kava causes liver damage, Cayenne causes stomach cancer, and on and on and on.  For an example from the article you linked, it warned not to take Ashwagandha while pregnant, here is a post Uny made about that very thing, she spent countless hours researching it and found that it is in fact safe.

Ashwagandha Report - MAJOR LEARNING OPPORTUNITY!

Here is another example on the use of Comfrey, the FDA tried to ban it for internal use which is just CRAZY!

More Truth - let's get down to it! :) Re: Comfrey, FDA Ban July 9, 2001

All this evidence doesn't discount the fact that you've had very real side effects from the Ashwagandha.  I would submit that maybe its not really the herb you're having the reaction to it might be because something else in the body isn't working properly.  For instance when our liver isn't working properly its very typical we'll have reactions to certain herbs.  Just a thought.

All our bodies are different so the dose that works for me might be too much for you.  Have you tried taking less of a dose until your body can get used to taking it?  If so did that lessen the reaction?

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the Ashwagandha because it sure does ROCK lol!  :-)
