Curious about ashwaghanda tincture reactions

Okay, so I started using the tincture yesterday and I've noticed that when I take one dropperful in a little water that about 30 seconds later I get a feeling of awareness in my asophagus and my stomach for a few seconds, like my nerve endings have been turned on and then I get some gas for a few minutes. I'm curious about the reason for both sensations. Is the nerve feeling the ashwaghanda or is it typical of taking any kind of tincture? Is the gas because I'm killing something or rustling up something in my stomach?

Also, a friend of mine had used the tincture on the bottoms of her feet and said that it worked for her that way. I tried it last night and it was the same sort of delayed 30 sec response feeling like my nerves suddenly got turned on, except it was much more uncomfortable on the bottom of my feet and woke me up several times during the night where I felt like I had to wiggle and stretch my feet to make the feeling pass. It felt like my nerves were over stimulated. Any ideas on this?

Thanks folks!
