Quick MTT & EFT Tapping Tips for Active PTSD Support
By Anne I. Merkel Ph.D. - Posted on 25 September 2009
Whenever a client presents to me with an active case of post traumatic stress disorder, I share some simple tapping tips. These include the use of just a couple of points that any person can utilize immediately without any training in specific MTT or EFT protocols
.
As a person is "melting down" or "blowing up" it is beneficial to tap on the "third eye" point between the two eyebrow points. This will break up the negative inner mind chatter and allow some of the stress to dissipate.
Then the person can tap the "karate chop" point on the side of the hand, with or without statements, to access the electro-magnetic field further and ennervate the meridian that is connected with feelings of vulnerability, abandonment, insecurity, and other painful feelings often associated with PTSD symptoms.
Just by tapping these two points one can get beyond the active emotions and find a place of greater peace that will enable them to then find a facilitator to help them clear the underlying emotional issues causing the pain.
