Candida is candida. Yeast is a fungus. It's all fungal.
This is not true. Candida is a dimorphic microbe. Dimorphic means it has more than one form. In its yeast form the Candida is a benign, normal, nonpathogenic inhabitant of the body. In its fungal form the Candida develops finger-like projections called hyphae that allow the Candida to dig in to tissues causing damage. Molds also produce hyphae, which is what allows them to penetrate deep in to hard substances such as drywall.
