Try this common sense approach from one who does not have the affliction.

I'm just using good 'ol McCainster common sense here and thinking out loud...just saying to a potential mate "live with it" or that obviously isn't the right one because he or she isn't educated about it, solves nothing. If I had an incurable anything, whatever it is, and it could be passed on...is it he problem of the "receiver"? No. I don't need more education, it's pretty simple to understand. If you have herpes, you can transmit it quite easily...what's to mis-understand about that? The non-herpes guy needs educating on the subject? That's silly. Of course everyone who is dating needs a basic knowledge of the dating risks out there, but once someone has herpes, for the time being...they have it. My common sense is telling me that maybe people with herpes should search out others with it...as you have stated. I agree totally with that line of reasoning. That's what I'd do. Why put yourself through the misery of uniting with a "clean" mate only to have this bombshell drop on him? Not fair to that guy or gal. If you have herpes, you got it from sleeping around with a person who had it, gave it to you, that's reality. Deal with it. Control it according to doctor's orders. Don't point the internet finger at all us non-carrier types that we need more educating and such. Maybe you should have thought about that beforehand...maybe? That's where the education needed to take place...BEFORE YOU SLEPT WITH THE HERPES CARRyING PERSON.

People need to read this and understand 100% that it's much better to act upon knowledge before the act, rather than after. That applies to most anything in life. Education after the fact isn't much help and finds you scrambling to justify or dilute the problem. And it is a problem. Like the fat debate in Amerika. Better to eat healthy before getting fat than to get obese and have to lose it. Am I making any sense to you?
