Currently doing water only.
Goal for this fast would like to hit 190 or so and would expect up to 10
pounds on refeed from what saw last 40 day fast done about six weeks ago.
last fast was 31 water, 3 juice, 2 water, 4 juice.40 total.
Weight went from 259 to 217 but was 222.6 when starting this fast after about nearly 7 weeks refeeding.
Hit 227 highest after that fast from water weight regain week or so post fast, then weight dropped but couldn't get it to go much under 221 lowest. Have been doing 5x week aerobic type on treadmill or bike and 3x week weights on bowlex post fast.Dont eat breakfast post fast and have been doing EAT STOP EAT 24 hour intermittent fasting program twice a week as well. Eating normally meaning eat
meat not vegan or raw diet but trying to eat good meaning no
Sugar drinks, very little white flour or white
Sugar stuff,minimal snacking and healthy snacking when snacking.
Would like to see the scales hit like 190 this fast and if go 10 on refeed then would be at 200. Still not goal weight figure need to be in the 160 to 180 range final weight. Possibly even 150. I am 5ft 6 male with fair amount of muscle.I will use body fat and muscle as my guide for final weights and don't expect to get there this fast. Figure going to take one or maybe two more fasts after his one to get there.
Seems I can maintain between fasts but can't keep losing between fasts.
May do exercise thru the fast or may not.See how energy goes. I know from last fast it can get very low on water only,it is much much higher on juice.
Or maybe will do just some walking and yoga and not do weights during the fast but may do a few sessions to see what is happening to my strength.I realize may get weaker on the fast but found last fast that the strength came back quick after it and after few weeks actually was lifting more poundages than prefast in just about every excercise.
This proves you don't lose much muscle if you have fat to burn up. Which is logical but many people keep parroting the common myth that you don't lose fat on a fast you lose muscle and water weight. yes did lose some water weight figure about 10
pounds and yes it did come back post fast but the fact poundages when doing weight training are higher backs up the minimal muscle loss.and the fact that pants went down several sizes also backs that up unless my big gut was all muscle! LOL
Anyway wants to fast with me nice to have fasting buddy.
Best advice for you rookies is this. SUCK IT UP! Don't want to hear any whining about you starting and stopping first day or so.
Get thru the first two or three days then you will find your hunger vanishes and after that going 7,14,etc is much easier almost too easy. If you feel like eating tell yourself you will eat post fast or just not now.
Remind/Tell yourself why you are fasting which is usually to lose weight and look better and be in better health. Overweight can kill,give you diabetes,etc. Fasting is quickest way to lose that weight and you can keep it off for good if you change your lifestyle afterwards.
That means regular exercise and watching what you eat and how much you eat possibly doing little minifasts to keep it down or intermittent fasting weekly,daily,etc.
I kept it off for six weeks pretty good proof it can be done.Others have fasted it off and kept it off for years.
Don't be discouraged and don't listen to naysayers.
And you may not want to tell too many people about the fasting.Most think its crazy. Last fast told everyone. This fast just tell wife and close friends.
